Week 9 Summary (06/05/1967 - 06/11/1967)

Week Nine of the 1967 BBW Replay is in the books, and 9it was another exciting and busy week. Tuesday had fifteen games with five doubleheaders and Sunday topped that with seventeen games played with seven doubleheaders. Every team has now passed the fifty games-played-mark, and several will be reaching the sixth mark for this upcoming week. In the AL, Boston, and Detroit are still fighting it out for the top spot, with neither willing to bend the knee to the other. What these two have done is to put some space between themselves and the next group. Baltimore is currently in third place, but their bandaged-up pitching staff may not hold, while Chicago, in fourth place, is still hoping their offensive attack could actually be a little more offensively oriented. Minnesota is still hoping to climb into the pennant race and this past week they replaced manager Sam Mele with Cal Ermer . Monday, June 5, 1967   Transactions:   New York (NL) outfielder Don Bosch was sent out to Jacksonville (IL) after 06/04/1967   Boston catcher Bob Tillman was injured (?) on 06/04/1967   Philadelphia pitcher John Boozer made his Season Debut on 06/06/1967. Boozer was recalled from San Diego (PCL)   Kansas City pitcher Bill Edgerton made his Season Debut on 06/06/1967. Edgerton had been previously recalled from Vancouver (PCL)   Chicago pitcher Chuck Hartenstein made his Season Debut on 06/06/1967.
